Get ready! Lockdown level 3 is coming to all of South Africa on Monday! Such wonderful news. But until then, here’s what we can do to keep ourselves busy.
Your Joburg Weekly Guide

Hi,

This week is going to be a goodie, there’s so much to look forward to! Next Monday, we head into lockdown level 3 and can finally stock up on some well-deserved wine to celebrate this big milestone. But until then, we have plenty of virtual entertainment to lift our spirits (pun intended). Have a great one and see you on the other side of level 4!

As of 01 June, the whole of South Africa will be moving into lockdown level 3. Here’s what you need to know about level 3, what you can and can’t do at this stage and more.
As the colder weather rolls in, we’re starting to crave hearty and oh-so moreish Italian cuisine to warm us up from the inside out. Now open for delivery, Gemelli in Bryanston is just the place for indulgent pasta dishes, delightful desserts and breakfast musts. Click here to find out more.

While we’re on the topic of food, 28 May is International Burger Day! To celebrate (and indulge a little bit), why not order your favourite burger from one of these burger spots in the city for home delivery through UberEats, MrD or direct from the restaurant itself?

This week, we get the Lockdown Lowdown from foodie, Haseena from the Daily Dilemna; award-winning filmmaker and artist, Mmabatho Montsho; and caterer and food blogger, Refilwe’s Meals On Wheels. They’ll be sharing what skills they’ve learnt during lockdown and how they stay motivated during this trying time.

And now for our Top 5 live streaming events for this week:
1 |
Enjoy some soul-soothing jazz with A Bird With Melodies by Ncamisa Nqana, presented by The South African State Theatre on their YouTube channel.
2 |
Don’t miss this week’s theatrical must from The National Theatre Livestream Series! Watch their screening of This House on their YouTube channel, available as of Thursday.
3 |
